Connection and multi-pairing
The 400-MAWBT207 connects in 2 ways: Bluetooth 5.1 (BLE) Class 2 and 2.4GHz wireless using a USB A receiver. As a Bluetooth mouse, it supports multi-pairing with up to 2 devices, and you can switch devices with the connection switch button. The receiver stores in the mouse body. The range is about 10m on non-magnetic surfaces such as wooden desks and about 2m on magnetic surfaces such as steel desks, and varies with environment.
Side wheel and fast scrolling
This side-wheel mouse lets you scroll horizontally with the thumb-side wheel. Vertically, it supports normal and fast scrolling, which is worth checking for scroll-heavy work such as moving through long documents or web pages, or reviewing wide spreadsheets. Note that the sales page states that horizontal scrolling in Excel may not work properly in some older versions. If you plan to use it as a horizontal-scroll mouse in Excel, check compatibility on the sales page.
Charging and operating time
It is a rechargeable mouse powered by a built-in battery and charged with a USB A to C cable. According to the manufacturer, continuous operation time is about 60 hours and continuous standby time is about 12,500 hours. Usable days are listed as about 110 days, but this is a manufacturer calculation assuming about 5% mouse operation during 8 hours of daily PC use, and is not a guaranteed value.
Supported OSes
Supported OSes listed by the manufacturer and sales page are Windows 11 / 10 / 8.1 / 8, macOS 14 / 13 / 12 / 11, Chrome OS, Android 13–14, iPadOS 13–17, and iOS 13–17.
Points to check before buying
The 400-MAWBT207 uses quiet buttons, but this does not mean it makes no sound at all. It is also a multi-function mouse for office and everyday work, not a gaming-focused model, so if you prioritize gaming performance, also compare dedicated models.
